En el año 2007 DC Comics y Warner Bros. tomaron una apuesta que lucía arriesgada, adaptar grandes historias a cintas animadas, y el bautizo de fuego fue Superman: Doomsday, basada en The Death of Superman, publicada en 1993.
La cinta fue gratamente recibida, por lo que se abrió una brecha que dio origen a más de 30 cintas con títulos destacados como Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Wonder Woman, Justice League: The Final Frontier, y otras más que han sido aclamadas por los fans y la crítica.
Para celebrar una década de éxitos animados, DC Comics anunció el lanzamiento de un paquete de lujo que tendrá todos los títulos que han sido lanzados, en formato Blu-Ray.
“Estamos orgullosos de celebrar la primera década de producciones, con un impresionante box set lleno de emocionantes materiales extras, además de las películas”, declaró la vicepresidenta de Warner Bros. Animation, Mary Ellen Thomas.

Además de las películas animadas, este paquete tendrá los cortometrajes The Spectre, Green Arrow, Jonah Hex, Catwoman y Superman/Shazam: The Return of Black Adam.
